Gerri A. Hofstetter, MS, Counseling Psychology, is the Education Manager and Center Director of the Early Head Start at TLG. She has extensive experience in work with children who are deaf as well as children with disabilities. She founded and directed her own child development center before coming to TLG. She has presented at the California Association for the Education of Young Children’s Annual Conference and at the California Council of the Blind’s Annual Conference, and she was a lecturer at the Community Childcare Council of Alameda County. She is the author of the book Instructors Manual for Introduction to Therapeutic Counseling, 4th edition. She developed the curriculum for the CSU Fullerton Mentoring Network Program for Black Student Success. Her expertise includes counseling diverse populations; various ethnic and socioeconomic groups, Deaf Culture, Visually impaired, and children and adults with developmental disabilities. She has led workshops and seminars on the topics of: Effective Communication skills, Discipline vs. Anger, Vision loss, The Grieving process, and Positive Parenting.
